For many years Arriva Midlands and Trentbarton have operated the X38 service between Burton & Derby together with a joint timetable. During 2025 this has all changed with Arriva registering the Trentbarton journeys for themselves. Trentbarton have responded by registering extra journeys to offer a service every 15minutes. To go with this the company has relaunched the service as the Xprss38 with refurbished Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE in a striking new livery.
